FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. — Retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Jeremy Thompson, Afghanistan combat veteran and Republican candidate for Congress in Tennessee’s newly drawn 9th Congressional District, today announced the endorsement of conservative leader Nick Freitas, former U.S. Army Green Beret and Iraq combat veteran.
“I’m endorsing Jeremy Thompson for Congress,” said Nick Freitas. “I’m doing it because I don’t want another mealy-mouthed, weak sauce Republican who talks a good game but is afraid of their own shadow when it comes to actually fighting for what we believe. Jeremy is bold and unapologetic about standing up for American culture and values. That’s the only kind of representative that represents me and he has my support.”
“I’m seeking to serve the people of Tennessee’s ninth district in Congress because I believe we need a conservative fighter in Washington who will take on the radical left and protect our constitutional freedoms,” said Jeremy Thompson. “We don’t need another career politician, we need a conservative warrior and outsider who will fight alongside President Trump to make America stronger, safer, and more affordable to live, work, and raise a family. I’m thankful to Nick for his support, and to everyone in the district who is rallying behind our campaign.”
A decorated military intelligence professional, volunteer firefighter, EMT, reserve deputy sheriff, and small business owner, Thompson has more than two decades of military and public service. Thompson served more than 22 years in military intelligence and special operations support, including assignments with the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne). In 2014, he was awarded the Soldier’s Medal for Heroism and Valor, one of the Army’s highest honors outside of combat. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Special Operations Association of America, advocating for veterans, military readiness, and national security, and working with federal legislators to shape legislation in Congress. In addition to his military background, Thompson and his wife Lindsay are owners of The Revolutionary Tavern, a downtown Fayetteville restaurant known for blending American history, hospitality, and community engagement.
