Jeremy Thompson Announces Campaign for Congress in
Tennessee’s Newly Drawn 9th District
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. — Retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Jeremy Thompson today announced his candidacy as a Republican for the United States House of Representatives in Tennessee’s newly drawn 9th Congressional District, launching a campaign focused on making life more affordable, holding institutions accountable, and
supporting America’s military and veterans.
A decorated military intelligence professional, volunteer firefighter, EMT, reserve deputy sheriff, and small business owner, Thompson enters the race following more than two decades of military and public service during a period of growing global instability and economic uncertainty.
“Our country is facing serious challenges at home and around the world,” Thompson said. “Too many career politicians have spent years talking while working families, veterans, and small businesses carry the burden. I’ve spent my life serving this country, and I believe now is the time to continue that service in Congress.”
Thompson served more than 22 years in military intelligence and special operations support, including assignments with the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne). In 2014, he was awarded the Soldier’s Medal for Heroism and Valor, one of the Army’s highest honors outside of combat. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Special Operations Association of America, advocating for veterans, military readiness, and national security.
In addition to his military background, Thompson and his wife Lindsay are owners of The Revolutionary Tavern, a downtown Fayetteville restaurant known for blending American history, hospitality, and community engagement.
“Jeremy Thompson understands service because he has lived it,” said longtime friend and campaign chairman Paul Brindley. “Whether it was wearing the uniform, responding to emergencies in the community, helping veterans, or building a small business from the ground up, Jeremy has always stepped forward when people needed leadership.”
Thompson said his campaign will focus on strengthening America’s national security, making life more affordable, supporting law enforcement and first responders, protecting constitutional freedoms, growing the economy, and bringing accountability back to Washington.
“I believe our best days are still ahead of us,” Thompson said. “But getting there requires leadership grounded in service, sacrifice, and a willingness to put country before politics.”
Thompson will officially launch his campaign with an event alongside his friends, family, and supporters on May 19 at Old Town in Fayetteville.
